Yahoo Sports is welcoming veteran sports media and product executive Jarrod Schwarz as the new General Manager of Yahoo Sports. In this role, Schwarz will oversee the growing Yahoo Sports business – including product, design, and technology; revenue and operations; partnerships and business development; and content. He will report directly to Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group.

“Jarrod has a unique and exceptional track record of building winning digital sports products and businesses, especially in areas fundamental to Yahoo Sports like core platforms, streaming, editorial, and fantasy,” Spoon said. “We’re thrilled to have him join the team and lead our growing Yahoo Sports operation to new heights.”

"I've spent my career at the intersection of sports, media, and technology, and Yahoo Sports is one of the few places that brings all three together at real scale,” Schwarz said. “From fantasy to editorial to community, it fuels fandom at every moment that matters. I'm looking forward to working with this talented team to deliver experiences that make us an indispensable part of every fan's daily routine."

Schwarz has a 20-plus year history of building and scaling digital products and businesses across sports, media, and e-commerce. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at BetMGM, where he led product, technology, customer operations, and trading across one of the fastest-growing sports betting and iGaming platforms in the U.S.

Prior to BetMGM, Schwarz was a Vice President of Product and Design at Disney and ESPN, where he was responsible for ESPN’s digital product portfolio. This included playing a key role in the development and launch of ESPN+, the company’s first direct-to-consumer streaming service.

Earlier in his career, Schwarz held product leadership roles at eBay, as well as Bloomspot, which was acquired by JPMorgan Chase.

Schwarz will start in his new role at Yahoo Sports this summer.
